An invitation to journey. To commemorate Claude Monet's visit to Venice in 1908, the Reverso Tribute Enamel transports you to our Atelier des Métiers Rares™ and the Adriatic Sea's coasts. The white gold Art Deco case on the front displays a guilloché dial with blue Grand Feu enamel and a delicate herringbone pattern (360 lines). Five enameling coatings, seven kiln passes at over 800 °C, and about nine hours of lapidary are needed to achieve the bright, transparent color. Our artisans recreated a well-known impressionist painting of a sunset over San Giorgio Maggiore on the back by enameling it for 70 hours and firing it through 15 kiln cycles (at temperatures as high as 800 °C). The watch, which is limited to ten pieces, has a black alligator strap.

British Army personnel stationed in India in the early 1930s had to deal with the issue of their wristwatches becoming broken by hits when they were playing polo. Swiss entrepreneur and watch lover César de Trey brought this problem to Jacques-David LeCoultre, who worked with French designer René-Alfred Chauvot to come up with a novel solution: a watch with a reversible case.
