The RM 27-05 Tourbillon in flight. One of the main pillars of the Richard Mille legacy is the RM 27 series. Rafa Nadal's wrist served as the launchpad for the original RM 027 in 2010, launching the brand into the ultra-sportswear market. Since then, the series has only gotten better in terms of toughness, lightweight design, and overall extraordinary quality.
Design
Carbon TPT® B. 4, a novel material created at Richard Mille based on Carbon TPT®, is incorporated into the RM 27-05. The RM 27-05's construction is the result of five years of research and development by our Swiss partner, the composite expert North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT™), which was first utilised in Formula 1.
History
A limited-edition watch called the Richard Mille RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon Rafael Nadal was created in partnership with tennis player Rafael Nadal. The watch's origins date back to 2008, when Richard Mille initially reached out to Nadal about collaborating. The two have worked together for a long time, starting with the RM 027 prototype in 2010, and the RM 27-05 is the result.
The Richard Mille RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon Rafael Nadal watch has many functions, including:
Flying tourbillon: With its single-sided design that does away with the upper bridge, this tourbillon is set on ball bearings. In addition to lowering weight, this design makes it easy to see how the tourbillon operates.
Barrel: The flying barrel of the watch rotates quickly, once every 5.2 hours.
Power reserve: The watch has a 55-hour power reserve.
Winding: The watch is manually wound.
Frequency: The watch has a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour (3 Hz).
Barrel pawl with progressive recoil: This mechanism offers a winding gain of about 20% and aids in distributing the tension of the mainspring.
Case: Carbon TPT B. 4, a composite material that is 30% stronger, 15% stiffer, and 4% denser than Carbon TPT, is used to make the watch's case. One complete block of this material is used to shape the case.
Caseband: A lightweight PMMA polymer with a scratch-resistant coating is used to make the watch's caseband.
A limited-edition timepiece called the RM 27-05 was made to commemorate Richard Mille and Rafael Nadal's collaboration. It represents their friendship as well as the brand's association with sports.
Note : Because Richard Mille watches are extremely rare, detailed information regarding each model's availability may change. For the most recent information, it is advised to speak with an authorised Richard Mille dealer.
